Come learn about 19th century textile designer William Morris,whose art features lavish botanical illustrations. After the presentation, you’ll make your own colored pencil study based on a Morris design of your choice. All materials will be included. Space is limited and everyone must register to attend this hands-on program for adults and seniors.

Messenger Public Library Foundation Fund Receives $134,000 bequest from Tinker Estate (North Aurora, Illinois June 3, 2013)
The Messenger Public Library Foundation Fund Advisory Committee announced this past month that the Library Foundation Fund received a donation of $134,000 from the estate of the late Barbara Messenger Tinker, the daughter of the Library’s founder Emeline Messenger.

Astronomy for Everyone!

Join Messenger Library in welcoming guest astrophysicist Kevin Manning. A former consultant with NASA, who has always been passionate about astronomy, and wants to share his  excitement with you!
Join us indoors to learn about the size and scale of the universe, the stars, and other celestial wonders. Then, weather permitting, we’ll troop outside, where a powerful telescope will be set up for viewing the craters on the Moon, the rings of Saturn and other beautiful objects in the night sky. Registration begins  May 9, everyone must attending must register. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
